Not sure how to celebrate Halloween in Central Park this year? The MCA and Central Park United Neighbors (CPUN) have partnered up to offer you some ideas regarding ways to safely celebrate Halloween this fall during Covid-19!

Decorate your house and yard! We would love to see your creative Halloween decorations, and you can email your pictures to, or tag the MCA (@MCA80238) and CPUN (@CPUnitedNeighbors) on Facebook to potentially be featured on our social media pages.

Some blocks have a tradition of a Halloween Parade.  Having a small group, outdoor, open-air costume parade where people are distanced more than 6 feet apart is designated a moderate-risk activity by the CDC.  For blocks that choose to continue this tradition this year, please consider clear communication among neighbors in advance about the starting time and place, the direction of the parade, and encouragement to wear face masks and practice social distancing during the parade. Stay updated on the CDC’S guidelines on low, middle, and high-risk activities during Halloween here:

For clarity of communication and uniformity among people who choose to use them, a door sign is available with language indicating that a household is not participating in trick-or-treating this year.
